MAD SYSTEMS AND SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY AGREE 3D FILM REDISTRIBUTION DEAL AT ATSC 2006
LOUISVILLE, KY, 28th October 2006 - Launching their newest business venture at this year's ASTC Conference, Mad Systems (Orange, CA) and the Swinburne University (Melbourne, Australia) will be launching their series of astronomy-based films presented in a unique 3D theater setting at the exhibition.
Regarded as one of the most highly esteemed astronomy programs globally, with an emphasis on precision data, factual photographical imagery and up-to-date information content, Swinburne intends to expand their 3D theater base into the US museum and institutional marketplace in collaboration with Mad Systems who will be their exclusive distributor and technical theater advisers.
Currently, Swinburne has existing Australian 3D theaters in operation at the Parkes Observatory, Sydney Observatory, Ballarat Municipal Observatory, the University of Western Australia and the Melbourne Museum. With other 3D theater locations in the UK, Korea and Thailand, the first US theater will finish installing late this month at the Columbia University in New York.
Led by Professor Matthew Bailes, Director of the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne and Maris Ensing, President of Mad Systems, the combination of these two formidable companies is sure to bring a series of both captivating and educational experiences for a wide variety of audiences. Mad Systems will present a sneak preview of their capabilities to provide an efficient and cost-effective 3D theater system, while Swinburne will continue to present the story of our Universe in the most amazing and data-driven educational and fun content. Swinburne will add one film per year, so that the base of scientific presentations within this program will continue to increase.
