Renewing Blue Planet Theater
Mad returned to the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center in Buford, Georgia, to update Blue Planet Theater with QuickSilver®. The work renews an experience for which Mad supplied the original audiovisual systems when the center opened in 2006.
The renewal introduced updated hardware and a new 10-minute film following water through the natural world and the local community. The film plays across side screens, a waterfall projection and a mapped topographical surface rising from a pool. A 5.1 sound system and synchronized lighting support the sequence. The renewed theater opened in March 2024, continuing the center’s use of a multimedia environment to tell its water story.
