A connected journey through creativity
Crayola IDEAworks was a traveling creativity exhibition that first opened at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute in February 2021. Mad supplied wireless QuickSilver® and RFID-linked interactives to connect the visitor’s choices throughout the exhibition.
Visitors choose an avatar and color, then use a keepsake wristband at more than 30 exhibits. Activities in the IDEA Workshop and Colorverse record choices and achievements as guests work through creative challenges.
The installation combines distributed playback with a compact rolling show controller. Wireless connections reduce the signal infrastructure assembled at each stop, and operators can manage the system from a smart device. Mad’s work supports both the individual interactions and the practical needs of an exhibition built to travel.
