Designing for the actual setting.
Mad was responsible for consultancy, design and implementation of the external video wall and audio systems at The Living Desert’s new entrance. The scope also included the initial media for the display.
The team worked with the client and architect on the display’s environment, including airflow and solar screening. The nominally south-facing position made light and heat part of the design problem.
A coordinated entrance experience.
The project brought media, audiovisual equipment and architectural decisions together. The installation needed an appropriate physical setting as well as an engaging presentation for arriving visitors.
The entrance installation connects the audiovisual presentation with the physical setting through which visitors arrive.
