Dimensions in Testimony: El Paso
Mad integrated the display, audio, microphones and controls that bring recorded survivor and liberator testimony into a shared experience at El Paso Holocaust Museum & Study Center.
A room built for listening and questions
Dimensions in Testimony allows visitors to ask questions and hear responses drawn from prerecorded interviews. Mad delivered the audiovisual presentation and control systems for the El Paso installation, bringing the displayed speaker, visitor microphones and room sound together.
The installation uses a 98-inch display and two loudspeakers. A ceiling-mounted microphone array and a wireless handheld microphone carry visitors’ questions into the experience, supporting a shared encounter with the testimony.
Different histories, preserved in their own words
The experience includes the testimonies of Pinchas Gutter, Eva Kor, Lea Noverra and U.S. Army veteran and liberator Alan Moskin. Lea Noverra’s testimony is presented in Spanish.
USC Shoah Foundation developed Dimensions in Testimony and its interactive biographies. The recorded accounts remain the source of the responses heard by visitors.
For the museum team, Mad’s QuickSilver® and TeaParty® installation brings scheduled power control and a dedicated operator interface together. A separate visitor interface permits testimony selection while keeping system controls with the operators.

The presentation combines a 98-inch display, a two-channel amplifier, left and right loudspeakers, a ceiling-mounted beamforming microphone array and a wireless handheld microphone. Beamforming uses multiple microphone elements to focus on sound from the selected direction.
Separate computers handle the interactive testimony and system housekeeping. TeaParty® coordinates scheduled power and equipment control, with an operator override. Operator and visitor interfaces provide different levels of control.
